Al Gore meddles into Canada’s plans

Al Gore did it again! Being on the road non-stop, regurgitating the same PowerPoint presentation and making millions off of it doesn’t seem to be enough for the once aspiring US president. To make it fair, he has increased awareness to the climate change issue bringing it into mainstream media, something that environmentalists and academics have failed to do since the mid 1980s.
At a yet another screening of his documentary in Toronto today, Al Gore has attacked the new Tory green plan: “In my opinion, it is a complete and total fraud”. With Dr. Suzuki in toe, it seems that there are no boundaries to Al Gore’s gore. At least he remembered that he has “no right to interfere in your [Canadian’s] decisions.” A little too late, given that he has already did just so, seconds before.
It is sad to see that our country is being slapped by our friendly neighbor whenever it suits them. We can all remember the long drawn-out soft wood lumber dispute that really took a swipe at Canadian corporate subsidy practices, but we haven’t heard a peep about the Alberta oil sands yet, a heavily subsidized and polluting industry.
Now on his green chariot, Al Gore rides into town announcing the demise of the world at the hand of corporate greed and consumer ignorance, all the while keeping quiet about his own country’s sustainability record, or better put the lack of it. It might be that he saves that lecture in the next presidential debate in 2008.
