Geologists have discovered the largest underground thermal lake in Budapest. The city is built on top of a 40 km labyrinth of caves – 7 large and a dozen smaller ones – and is famous for its thermal water. The Lucash Lake is one of the largest discovered so far, its temperature reaching 25 degrees Celsius. The government is planing to open it to the public and is considering applying for UNESCO Heritage status. More here
